When he was ten years old, Pierre Garand got his first camera, a plastic box with a fixed focus lens, aperture and shutter speed, that used 127 roll film; and he hasn't stopped shooting since. He taught himself with books, experimentation, and advice and by the time he was fourteen he was processing his own film and printing in a darkroom he set up in the basement.
